Journal Article relating to Infant Development
The website Books for Toddlers to Encourage Cognitive Development discusses how books can encourage development in children. Books offer a sensory experience, and can teach object permanence. The variety of book types offer many things: real photos, songs, and repetition. Reading a book repetitively helps children be able to predict events in the story. Books allow children to make connections from things in the book to real life. Since there are a variety of books, a child can find one that peaks their interest. The best experience from books can come from the interaction between the child and the parent. (Lobello,2012).
